What is Virtual Physio?
Virtual Physio is the use of information or communication technologies to allow you and your physiotherapist to connect via video conference (similar to Skype or FaceTime) to receive physiotherapy services at a distance when an in-person visit creates a barrier to treatment.
During a Virtual appointment, your physiotherapist is able to listen and ask questions about your current injury/illness concerns, assess basic mobility and movements (including breathing patterns), recommend a course of self-management that includes education, exercises, review of current programs as general health coaching on chronic disease management.
You can expect to receive the same exceptional care through our Virtual services as you would in the clinic. However, although many situations are served well by Virtual, not everything will be appropriate. Your therapist will absolutely inform you if they feel they will not be able to help you via video ~ they will direct you to whom else in your own community (another health care profession for example), or the type of referral you may need to receive from your GP to move you forward in your care.
